2013 BARNES H3 XMAS WEEKEND RNLI COLLEGE HOTEL Poole, Dorset Friday 15 – Sunday 17 November
The RNLI College is a stunning modern building which is used for lifeboat crew training during the week but transforms at weekends into Poole’s no: 1 hotel. All rooms are large and have sea views. It is 5 minutes walk to the High Street with its shops and many pubs. There is a car park space for every room. The downside is that there are no twin rooms but if you don’t want to cosy up with a friend you can enjoy the luxury of a large double room all to yourself for a supplement of only £10pn. All profits from the hotel business go to the RNLI. This year the dress code is fancy dress on a nautical theme. The exact title will be presented in due course once we’ve thought of it! We’ll start with a welcome drink, move on to our usual three-course dinner with wine or beer and then there will be a disco for dancing the night away. Prizes for fancy dress will be awarded. Of course, this is an Hash weekend so there will be a delightful trail on the Saturday afternoon with sandwiches and chips in the pub afterwards not to mention a circle and downs. There will be the usual Hangover run on Sunday morning followed by (wait for it) a circle and down downs. All of this for the tiniest increase in price (a mere £2) after four years of holding the cost level!
